Laelia Purpuratas are my favorite orchids. Usually blooming in July-August in the Northern Hemisphere,
these fragrant laelia purpuratas are to me the most regal and hardy specimens in the collection.
They take the cold winters here down to freezing outside in the shadehouse as long as they are covered
from the rain. Included below are some hybrid crosses in addition to the species.
